Overview

The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is a dynamic organization headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado that provides leadership and guidance for the Olympic Movement in the United States and around the world.

In 1978, the passage of the Amateur Sports Act as federal law appointed the U.S. Olympic Committee as the coordinating body for all Olympic related athletic activity in the United States. The vision of the USOC is to assist in finding opportunities for every American to participate in sport, regardless of gender, race, age, geography or physical ability. The International Olympic Committee recognizes the USOC as the sole agency in the United States whose mission involves training and underwriting the full expenses for the United States teams in the Olympic and Pan American Games.

The United States Olympic Committee is dedicated to preparing America's athletes to represent the United States in the ongoing pursuit and achievement of excellence in the Olympic Games and in life. Our Olympians inspire Americans, particularly our youth, to embrace Olympic ideals and to pursue excellence in sport and in their lives.
