The mission of the Uniform Code Council, Inc. (UCC) is to take a global leadership role in establishing and promoting multi-industry standards for product identification, including the Universal Product Code (U.P.C.), and related electronic communications. The goal is to enhance efficient supply chain management, contributing added value to the customer.

UCCnet is a universal foundation for industry standards-based electronic commerce. UCCnet provides a trading platform of synchronized product information between business-to-business partners through an Internet-based trading community. In addition, UCCnet links solution providers and trade exchanges, providing companies visibility to a wide range of information and resources.

From trading, to solution providers and business-to-business Internet marketplaces, users are able to form collaborative trading relationships based on industry standards and synchronized compliant data through UCCnet. The organization will synchronize UCC and EAN item information for all trading partners within the 23 industries served by the Uniform Code Council, Inc. and provide trading partner access to compliant business applications and services.
