History
Williams Scotsman was created as a national company in 1990 as the result of a merger between Williams Mobile Offices/Modular Structures, located in Maryland, and Scotsman Manufacturing Company, located in California. The companies shared similar histories, starting as modest family-owned businesses and growing to become industry leaders in their respective geographic regions. The merger of Williams and Scotsman brought together two of the most prominent mobile office and modular building companies in the United States, and created a single, vigorous industry leader. Throughout the nineties, Williams Scotsman has enjoyed considerable growth due to planned geographic expansion, as well as numerous acquisitions, combined with the introduction of additional product lines and value-added services.

With a network of over 90 locations throughout the United States and Canada, and an operating fleet of more than 75,000 mobile office and storage units, Williams Scotsman is one of the largest mobile office/modular building providers in North America. The company serves over 40,000 customers in approximately 460 separate industries, including construction, education, utilities, health care, chemicals and engineering firms. In addition to its core leasing business, Williams Scotsman also provides delivery, installation, refurbishment and an array of other services. Williams Scotsman's products include construction trailers, classrooms, temporary offices, in-plant offices, shower and locker facilities, lavatories, storage trailers, storage containers, real estate offices, automobile sales offices, clubhouses, and even temporary airport terminals. We have doubled in size since 1995, with over 1,300 professionals currently employed.
