R.O. Anderson Engineering, Inc. is a responsive 35+ person firm specializing in civil engineering, land use planning, land surveying, water resources and site development. Founded in 1989 by Rob Anderson, Anderson Engineering is located in Minden, Nevada. Anderson Engineering is recognized locally for their capability of delivering creative, cost effective solutions to diverse project requirements and their superior abilities in the preparation of thorough project plans. Personnel are professionally registered in California and Nevada in civil engineering, planning and land surveying services. We have extensive experience working in the sensitive Lake Tahoe Basin and Douglas County, Nevada, and considerable experience in many other counties and communities in Northern California and throughout Nevada.

Work Environment
Our office is located in the historic downtown area of Minden, Nevada. Minden is a small community set within the Carson Valley, adjacent to and east of the Carson Range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our office space is a beautifully remodeled1960's era former bank building. This exterior remodel was accomplished to better reflect the historic character and heritage of old Minden, and the interior remodel was completed to meet our growing office space needs. We have an OCE printing system, color plotters, color and digital copiers, and various computer network resources including AutoCAD LDD 3 software and the Haested Methods software suite.

Project and Workflow Management
R.O. Anderson Engineering is segmented into several practice areas, also known as focus areas. Each focus area is headed by a focus area leader who is responsible for managing project budgets and timeframes, providing work assignments to others in the focus group, project quality assurance and control, and overall project management to insure that adequate resources are applied to deliver projects on time and on budget. Focus area teams typically meet weekly to coordinate their efforts. Our firm relies on a matrix style organizational chart in that an employee may be included in more than one focus team. This gives the company flexibility to respond to workload demands and also gives the employee a greater breadth of experience and exposure to different types of projects. Engineers in our firm generally do not perform their own drafting but instead rely on accomplished technicians and designers who are assigned to their focus area to complete AutoCAD design tasks.
