Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line Limited is a global cruise company and industry innovator that currently operates a fleet of eight ships sailing to more than 200 ports in Alaska, Australia, Bermuda, Caribbean, Europe (Mediterranean, Baltic and Scandinavia), Hawaii, Mexico, South America and Trans Canal, and will include Asia in 2001. NCL’s expansion includes the purchase of Orient Lines (Marco Polo and Royal Odyssey) in July 1998. In February 2000, NCL’s parent company, NCL Holding ASA (NRW), was acquired by Star Cruises PLC of Malaysia. Following the acquisition of NCL in 2000, Star Cruises is now the fourth largest cruise line in the world operating a combined fleet of 20 ships with more than 21,000 lower berths. By the end of 2002, with two ships currently on order, Star Cruises with NCL will have approximately 28,000 lower berths. Norwegian Cruise Line currently is building two new ships: M/S Norwegian Sun, a 1,960-passenger sister ship to the recently introduced Norwegian Sky (for delivery September 2001); and the Norwegian Dawn, a 2,300-passenger ship that will be NCL’s largest (for delivery in late 2002). In addition, in December 2001, Star Cruises’ SuperStar Star will join the NCL fleet, offering year-round cruises in Hawaii as the renamed Norwegian Star. NCL revolutionized the cruise industry in May 2000 when it introduced its new, innovative cruise concept, Freestyle Cruising. NCL’s Freestyle Cruising concept offers NCL passengers a more relaxed, resort-style cruise product with complete flexibility and non-intrusive service of the highest standard. Hallmarks of this innovative onboard service concept include open seating and extended hours in the main dining rooms, “resort-casual” attire each night, increased crew-to-guest staffing up to the level typically found at top shoreside resorts, simplified tipping procedures, and a more leisurely disembarkation procedure. Freestyle Cruising will be offered on all NCL ships by summer 2001.* In addition, all new builds will be designed to accommodate the concept. * excluding S/S Norway. Our benefits package includes medical/dental insurance, 401K, vacation, holidays, attendance hours, Flex spending account, company paid pension plan, Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage, Short term disability, Long term disability, Tuition Reimbursement, cruising privileges, employee referral program, direct deposit and many more.
