In 1987, The Limited, Inc. created Limited Too stores (Too, Inc.) within its existing Limited concept specialty retail stores to sell similarly styled product to younger girls and infants. From 1987 through 1995, Limited Too stores rapidly expanded from 2 to 288 different retail locations. In 1996, a new senior management team at Too, Inc. refocused the Company's strategy to target fashion-conscience girls between the ages of 7 and 14.

Too, Inc. spun off from The Limited, Inc. in order to establish a strong independent brand identity.
