CRMD designs, manufactures, and supports state-of-the-art devices to treat bradycardia (debilitating slow heartbeat), tachycardia (life-threatening fast heartbeat), and other cardiac rhythm disorders. But our mission goes well beyond supplying devices to physicians and their patients: Our goal is to give our customers the best solutions for the comprehensive management of cardiac rhythm disease. We serve as the physician's partner in providing the finest in medical care.

Our global operation draws on the talents of more than 2,500 employees. Principal facilities are located in Sylmar and Sunnyvale, California; Scottsdale, Arizona; Pickens, South Carolina; and Veddesta, Sweden. At these sites we carry out research and development activities and manufacture top-quality electrical stimulation products and product components: PacesetterÒ brand pacemakers to treat bradycardia, VentritexÒ brand implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) to control tachycardia, leads to connect these pulse generators to the heart, programmers to communicate with our implanted devices, hybrid elements that constitute the "brains" of our pacemakers and ICDs, and unique capacitors for ICDs.

Our heritage is innovation and we have the patents to prove it. Since our beginnings as independent pacing and defibrillation businesses, we have been pioneers in technology and in therapy. Today, the CRMD intellectual property portfolio of over 900 patents--the technological innovations of scientists and engineers from Pacesetter, Telectronics and Ventritex. Our watchword is quality. Our customer service is legendary. Our field organization is made up of more than 500 experts in pacing and defibrillation technology. With decades of experience and a long-standing reputation for responsive service behind them, the members of our field organization form long-term partnerships with healthcare professionals and the hospitals they work in. They participate in patient follow-up and conduct in-service training on the use of our products and selected topics in cardiac rhythm management.
