The Houston Center for Quality of Care and Utilization Studies (HCQCUS) consists of the Veterans Affairs Health Services Research and Development Centers of Excellence (one of 13 nationwide), and the Baylor College of Medicine Section of Health Services Research. Over the last 15 years, HCQCUS has grown into a research powerhouse, continuing it's mission of impacting health and health care by conducting and translating outstanding research and by developing influential leaders in health outcomes, quality, access, utilization, and costs. The Houston Center of Excellence supports 35 independent investigators (MD and PhD) with expertise in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Biostatistics, Psychometrics, Epidemiology, Pharmacology, Sociology, Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Ethics, Mathematics, and Statistics. The Principal Investigators at HCQCUS work together on multidisciplinary
teams to ultimately improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.
