Fiskars is one of the oldest companies in the western world. The Company dates back to 1649, when a Dutch merchant was given a charter to establish a blast furnace and forging operation in the small village of Fiskars in the Western portion of Finland.

The largest business unit, Fiskars Brands, Inc., headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, is responsible for all of the widely recognized, brand-enhanced, quality consumer products manufactured and sold by the company worldwide.

The primary focus of the company is to drive the success of its three distinct business groups, which represent the leading consumer brands in the school, office & craft (SOC), lawn & garden, and recreation industries around the world.

The company's vision is simple: to be the best consumer products company in the world.

Approximately 70 percent of Fiskars sales are in North America, 28 percent in Europe, with a small, but growing, market outside of these two primary regions.

Fiskars growth is based on a strategy of an equal balance between organic growth and acquisitions. Key drivers for organic growth is a history of successful product innovation, good relationships with the distribution channel, and quality of our personnel.

Fiskars Brands, Inc. encompasses more than 29 individual reporting units, and employs over 5,000 people worldwide. In general, most facilities are either manufacturing facilities with attached warehousing, or dedicated sales and distribution facilities with a country or product focus.
