FamiliesFirst, Inc. is dedicated to bettering the lives of children and their families through the best possible treatment and support services. We offer residential care, day treatment, a special education school, professional foster care, adoptions, and an array of wrap-around and family support services. Each year, FamiliesFirst, Inc. serves over 2,000 children from birth to eighteen years of age from over 32 Northern California counties. We have offices located in multiple sites ranging throughout Central and Northern California.
Professional Foster Care Program
This treatment program is designed to provide services to a wide range of children, including those who have been abused, abandoned, neglected and molested, and who would otherwise require institutional care. FamiliesFirst, Inc., provides family counseling, supervision of visits, transportation and parent training geared toward preparing the families for reunification, when appropriate.
Adoptions
FamiliesFirst, Inc. works to ensure permanency and the least restrictive placement for each child in our care. Our adoption program provides services for court-dependent, special needs children and prospective adoptive parents. When children in our foster care program are freed for adoption, FamiliesFirst, Inc. is able to complete the adoption process with the current foster family or to search for an appropriate adoptive family.
Wrap-Around/Family Support Services
FamiliesFirst, Inc. provides a wide array of services designed to assist children and families toward addressing problems to prevent a child's placement into higher, more restrictive levels of care. Wrap-around and in-home mental health services are individualized case plans designed to maintain children in their present settings. Wrap-around services may consist of crisis intervention, psychotherapy, counseling, behavioral services, psychiatric services, case management, respite, psychological evaluation, tutoring, recreational services, in-home support, or parent training.
Day Treatment/Nonpublic School Programs
These schools are directed toward improving each child's academic performance and social-emotional functioning so that he or she can return to public school. Mental Health and educational services are provided by teams including teachers, psychiatrists, therapists, and counselors.
Crisis Residential Treatment Program
Crisis Residential is a short-term intervention that serves as an alternative to acute hospital care.
Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program
Designed to serve severely emotionally disturbed children who would otherwise be at risk for long-term placement in a state hospital or local psychiatric facility, the program serves 66 children ages 6-16. Psychiatric Residential Treatment provides comprehensive assessment, therapeutic and medical services through a professional treatment team of psychiatrists, social workers and counselors.
FamiliesFirst, Inc. works to stay on the forefront of effective services for children and families by participating in the development of new treatment approaches. Currently we are piloting services such as Kinship Centers, Mentoring Programs, Transitional Living apartments for young adults, and services for Latino populations.
Join us and make a difference in the lives of children and their families. Experience a positive balance between life and work with FamiliesFirst. We offer excellent benefits, including retirement. Supervision for licensure available.
