Our flagship hospital, the 650+ bed Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is the region’s only tertiary care referral medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center that serves all of western Massachusetts. BMC is the Western Campus of Tufts University School of Medicine and a Magnet Hospital for nursing excellence. BMC has the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the region and the only neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. Baystate Medical Center in 2007 and 2008 was named one of “America’s Best Hospitals“ by U.S. News and World Report. Baystate Health was also named as one of the "Top 100 Most Highly Integrated Healthcare Networks" in the US by Verispan for the ninth consecutive year.
Baystate Medical Center is building a premier, state-of-the-art, Heart & Vascular Center that will open in 2012. The New Heart & Vascular Center will provide an integrated, multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease, while advancing cardiovascular disease research and education.
Housed within the medical center is the Baystate Children’s Hospital The Children’s Hospital offers the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Cares Units and provides advanced medical care to babies, children and adolescents in an environment that focuses exclusively on the needs of their needs and those of their families.
Baystate Franklin Medical Center, located in scenic Greenfield near the Vermont border, provides high quality inpatient and outpatient services to communities in Franklin and Hampshire counties in Massachusetts and Southern Vermont. Less than 100 beds, Baystate Franklin offers vital services to the communities we serve while providing access to all the advanced services available at BMC.
Located approximately 30 miles northeast of Springfield is Ware, home to Baystate Mary Lane Hospital. Serving more than a dozen Central Massachusetts communities, we offer the best of both worlds – the convenience of care close to home with the option to access the full service offerings of BMC.
Baystate Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice is the area’s largest home health care and hospice agency, and offers the expertise to meet individual needs by bringing highly qualified nurses, therapists, social workers, and home care aides to patients’ homes in Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties and the western towns of Worcester County.
