Environment and Community

We are a founder member of the International Hotels Environment Initiative (IHEI), and our hotels undertake programs to conserve energy and water and to improve the management of waste and recycling, which are monitored and measured against targets.

InterContinental Hotels Group is working with charitable partners Give Kids the World, the resort that provides holidays full of magical memories for children with terminal and life-threatening illnesses and their families, and UNICEF to provide the basic right to education for thousands of children. InterContinental Hotels Group, through corporate donation and employee fundraising, has supported UNICEF since 2002, to provide teacher training and support materials as well as upgrading entire school facilities. Children have been given access to clean water and sanitation facilities, libraries, science equipment and basic study materials. We enable staff and individuals to engage with our charitable partners directly and through fundraising.
