The story of AMX Corporation begins in 1982 when the company recognized the need for simple tools people could use to harness the rising power of technology, while providing valuable solutions for their everyday lives.

Beginning with a three-part strategy of listening to the customer, creating solutions that simplify and excite, and keeping the customer's trust with a passion for service, AMX launched its first product, the MX20. A simple (by today's standards) wireless controller for 35mm slide projectors, the MX20 provided a way to advance and reverse a single slide projector without a wired connection. Not only did the MX20 solve a problem, but was also easy to carry, fun to use, and most importantly, it always worked (or should we say 'always works.' The MX20 is still in production today, renamed the MX2).

AMX employees helped create an open, dynamic corporate culture that enjoyed tremendous growth. But the growth was more than just increases in revenue. Focusing on solutions that enabled and excited, the company produced a wide variety of technology firsts that gained regional, domestic and international attention. Additional growth occurred through the company's desire to spread its vision of simplicity and excitement to new markets and opportunities. This included the acquisition of technology, domestic and international companies, and expansion into the Advanced Control System market.

By 1995, AMX had grown to 130 employees, housed in two multi-story buildings, with dealers and distributors in 40 countries. That same year the company became publicly traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol AMXX. By this point, the products and solutions available from AMX had been adopted by the majority of Fortune 500 companies and a user's list of home installations that read like a global Who's Who. AMX systems had made it possible for millions of everyday devices in corporate boardrooms, meeting facilities, professional sporting arenas, museums, hospital operating rooms, transportation systems, schools and homes to be smarter and connected.

In 1998, the company began developing leading-edge technology to integrate the Internet with the millions of everyday devices that they had already connected. Recognizing the potential of the Internet to change the way control systems are used, the company re-launched itself in 1999 as Panja Incorporated (NASDAQ: PNJA) focusing on connecting the Internet to the devices that we interact with everyday. Utilizing this technology, Panja devices that were originally installed in corporate boardrooms, meeting facilities, professional sporting arenas, museums, hospital operating rooms, transportation systems, schools and homes were not only smarter and connected, but now connected to the Internet. Under the Panja banner, many new market innovations were introduced that set the standard for today's connected control system, including WebLinxTM Server software and NetLinxTM control system technology.

On June 11, 2001, the company returned to the AMX name, placing a clear emphasis on the high level of customer service and support upon which the company was founded. The AMX name also symbolizes the core capabilities in creating world-class control systems, such as NetLinx technology, integration! Solutions network applications, and the vast array of professional services for our dealers. In our view, AMX better represents the value of our impact in the marketplace and our boundless potential for the future.
