Overview

Alfred Mann Foundation

In 1985, Alfred Mann created the Foundation “to conduct scientific and medical research to improve the quality of life of people suffering from debilitating medical disabilities by developing innovative bionic solutions”.

Since then, the Foundation has built a solid track record. We have brought innovative bionic solutions to many medical conditions. At the Foundation, we strive to turn vision into reality by expanding the art of medical engineering.

We have made major technological contributions in:

  • Drug delivery systems
  • Glucose sensors
  • Hospital drug delivery systems
  • Cochlear implants
  • Artificial sight
  • Neuromuscular Stimulation
  • Urinary incontinence treatment
  • Chronic pain control
  • Specialized medical batteries
  • Long life cardiac pacing systems

This is possible because we have a world class team with expertise in:

  • Low power subminiature integrated circuit design
  • Digital and analog radio communications
  • RF, analog and digital electronic design
  • Mechanical engineering, specifically in areas of electronic design and hermetic encapsulations
  • The science of biocompatible coatings and materials
  • Implantable, rechargeable power source engineering
  • Surgical ergonomics
  • System level engineering

The future of the Foundation is as exciting as our past has been successful. We welcome you to consider your future as a Foundation team member. Take part in our vision, share in the experience of helping us help others.
